Charity Projects
Pastoral Quilt Committee: Jeanne Lobsinger & Trish Fowlkes
Trish has agreed to head up a subcommittee for Pastoral Quilts with Cooks Childrens Hospital. They have requested quilts for terminally ill children, and for their families as keepsakes. The requirements are a simple patchwork quilt using 10” squares, with 5 squares across and 7 rows long with alternating blocks of solid white cotton for written messages, hand/foot prints, etc. Please use colorful and/or kid themed fabrics but no religious themed fabrics. Please quilt using either SID (stitch in the ditch) or a ¼” outline around each seam. It is ok to turn the tops to finish the edges before quilting. Please bring your pastoral quilts to meeting and turn them into Trish.
Financial Report from Mary Beth McCormack, Guild Treasurer
As of February, there was income of $560, expenses of $122. Most of this income was membership dues and more than likely will drop until quilt festival. Mary Beth requests that when sending money to the Guild PayPal account, please include your name and details on what the money is for to help keep the accounting accurate.

Show & Share
Kelly Rogers, VP Communications, who was unable to attend the March meeting, has requested the addition of a form to help her keep the pictures correctly identified and make Show & Share progress quickly. There will be a form on the check-in table prior to meeting for you to fill out with your name, name of your quilt/item, and information on pattern, fabric, technique, etc. Also, please indicate if you would like your picture posted on the Guild’s social media accounts, including FaceBook pages, Instagram, and any other social media including the blog. Look for the official form at the April meeting.
It’s SEWcial time! April 28th, 10 am – 5 pm, Room 291
Yikes! The NTQF is coming up fast, gulp! We can use this Sewcial for attaching labels, hanging sleeves, and making more Mini Quilts to auction! Also, we took some ideas from guild members for small things we can make to sell in the booth. Suggested items are: jewelry, journals, member patterns, zippered bags, drawstring and tote bags, soup bowl covers have been done and pet poop bag holders. Email ideas for selling items to the festival email address for consideration and we will also have more ideas at the April Meeting before the Sewcial. Hope to see you there!
North Texas Quilt Festival Update from Jenn Haxton & Rhonda Weddle
Over 350 quilts were entered from FWMQG members! Please email the festival email address at TQF2018@gmail.com for questions and also if you did not receive a confirmation email. Jenn and Rhonda will be going through the entries to double check for accuracy of categories and if better pictures are needed.
Volunteers Needed!
We need volunteers to staff the Guild booth! Lazara has a signup sheet for 2 hour blocks of time. If you are available all day, please let them know.

Standing Rules Vote
Motion for the meeting: “The Board of Directors of the Fort Worth Modern Quilt Guild moves that item number four in the Standing Rules ‘Board Member Nominations’ be rescinded because it causes confusion and limits the ability of newer members to serve on the board.” The Board unanimously voted to strike this standing rule and standing rules will be updated to omit this motion.

June 23 (Saturday) – Heather Givans, Crimson Tate – Workshop: Air Traffic Control. Cost is $40.00 guild members, $60.00 guests, plus supplies.
July 19 – Member-Led Demos
July 28 (Saturday) – Ian Garland and the Tech Truck for Kids & Adults from the Perot Museum for a special event for kids that will encourage quilting.– Location TBD
August 16 – Ian and the Tech Truck for Adults on how to create quilt blocks with conductive thread.
September 20 – Shirley Stevenson – Circle Quilts Trunk Show
September 22 (Saturday) – Shirley Stevenson – Circle Quilts Workshop
October 19 – Tina Hilton (Turtle Hand Batik)

Domestic Quilting Rulers Demonstration
Lazara & Chris gave an interactive demonstration on how to use quilting rulers on a domestic machine. Guild split up into two groups and there were two stations.
