November Recap

This was a busy meeting! We started off this meeting by having the 5 guests in attendance (and now new members!) introduce themselves. We are so happy they joined and now have 74 members in our guild!! For Charity projects, we have reached our goal of 25 tote bags! We are still behind on nap mats so we showed off six that were turned in at meeting and let the guild know that we updated the dimensions. October Recap

We started off this meeting with the announcement we have 69 total members! This is the biggest our guild has grown! In our charity report we have made 23 tote bags, 15 nap mats and 103 pillowcases!! We have also had 21 Quilts for Peace blocks. We decided to send these and the Quilts for Peace quilts we have to Vegas for those victims. We have decided to really focus on our local charities, especially getting more nap mats in! September Recap

This month’s meeting was all about the North Texas Quilt Festival and what a HUGE success our guild had! To start off with membership, the size of our guild jumped to 67 total members! We also had 9 guests in attendance, many of which showed interest at our booth at the festival. The festival was also a big success financially!¬† Making a profit is a big accomplishment for a quilt show, let alone our first ever quilt show. Our biggest success was the mini quilt auction. August Recap

We started the meeting off with our membership and treasurer reports. We had no new members this month, but hoped this would change after the festival! Our treasurer report was included in this month’s newsletter to keep members informed on the running of the guild. Our ending balance this month was $5,938.47. After the festival we also hoped this would go up so we could bring in more speakers and workshops! July Recap

We started off our July 20th meeting as usual with our membership, charity and treasurer reports. We had 2 new members in July, bringing our total to 56 members! We also had an article written about us in the Safe Haven newsletter and several thank you notes from charities passed around for members in attendance to read. Additionally, we had 19 pillowcases for Cook Children’s hospital turned in! An update was given on how the North Texas Quilt Festival was progressing as it was only a month away! June Recap

Our June meeting kicked off on June 15, 2017 with a charity progress report. In June we had 10 totes, 4 nap mats, 5 ACH pillowcases, 4 Cook Children’s pillowcases, and 4 heart blocks turned in. Safe Haven also let us know, they would like to feature our organization in an upcoming newsletter. Additionally, as our time commitment had passed, we would not be collecting pillowcases for ACH. We started this meeting focusing on all of the awesome charity work our guild does! So far to date the following charity projects have been turned in: Tote bags for SafeHaven: 10 Nap Mats for SafeHaven: 4 Pillowcases for ACH: 5 Pillowcases for Cook’s: 45 (Wow!!) Quilts for Peace Blocks: 6 Chris showed several nap mats she made and explained fabrics needed for pillowcases for boys over 10 years old. Our April Meeting was a truly inspiring experience featuring our special guest, Libs Elliott all the way from Canada! Janet, our VP of Membership, started off meeting announcing we have 51 paid members! Four wonderful guests attended our meeting! Jenn announced that an $805 check was written to UNT Alzheimer’s research as proceeds from our 2016 Charity Raffle Quilt! Our March Meeting was fun AND¬†informative! We started off the meeting looking requesting a volunteer to be the 2017 Raffle Coordinator. Our coordinators learned a lot raffling our 2016 charity quilt and have a lot of information to pass on! This year’s raffle will be much easier and much less stressful! February Meeting Recap

Our February meeting proved to be an exciting one! To start the meeting, we had 9 guests sign in! We are so happy they could join us and hope to see them again soon! Our drawings every month have a slight change. We will draw door prizes for members attending and guests attending as usual, and have added another drawing for charity projects.
